Top Car Shows:
1) North American International Auto Show: held annually, spectators can preview cutting edge, up and coming car trends.
In 2007, for example, Toyota highlighted the Toyota FT-HS (Future Toyota Hybrid Sports car), a car that goes from 0 to 60 mph in only four seconds, and provides fuel economy in the mid-20s.
In 2008, the show will be held from January 19-27 in the Motor City (Detroit, MI).
2) Don’t miss the Chicago Auto Show: The 2007 event just wrapped up but you can see the survey results here, including Best Concept Vehicle and the Vehicle I'd Most Like to Have in my Driveway, as determined by the show’s attendees.
3) New York International Auto Show: an annual event, this year’s keynote speaker is Alan Mulally, President & CEO, Ford Motor Company.
This year’s show is April 6-15 and features the World Car of the Year Awards Program.
4) Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event: at the 2007 show in Scottsdale, Arizona, cars auctioned off for charity included:
- 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra ($5.5. million)
- Warrior One Hummer used in a CNN tour of Iraq (sold for $1 million)
- Two 1954 Dodge Firearrow “Dream” cars (sold for $1.1 million each)
- Boss 429 Mustang (sells for $605,000)
